Waycross College

Right-To-Know Program

In 1988, the Georgia legislature passed a law protecting the right of all state employees to know about the hazardous compounds they may encounter in the workplace. Waycross College supports the right of faculty, staff, and students:

  • to be aware of possible chemical hazards at the college,
  • to be trained in safe handling techniques for chemicals they may regulary encounter in their jobs or in the laboratory,
  • to receive pertinent, useful, and timely information about hazardous compounds,
  • to refuse to enter a work situation or to handle a hazardous compound without proper training and without fear of reprisal or disciplinary action.

Primary Contact Person:

Bernard Majdi, Associate Professor of Chemistry/Biology, is the Right-to-Know Program coordinator. Please contact him first if you have any questions about hazardous compounds on campus.
