GIL EXPRESS LOAN

WHAT IS GIL EXPRESS

Gil Express is a service being offered at all libraries within the University System of Georgia (USG). The service allows students, faculty and staff to access and borrow all eligible circulating material through a shared Universal Catalog of the USG libraries. The patron orders books directly through the Universal Catalog and specifies a pickup location.

OVERDUE AND LOST MATERIAL

Overdue Material: Currently fines are not charged for overdue GIL Express books. However, if you have GIL Express material from any of the USG libraries that is overdue, your borrowing privileges will be blocked. This block will be effective at all libraries including Waycross College Library. A Banner block will also be placed on your student record which will prohibit you from registering or receiving transcripts until all obligations are cleared.

Lost Material: Each library sets its own price for the replacement cost of a lost book. If you have questions about the price of a book you should check with the library that owns the book. The processing fee for one lost GIL Express book is $35.00. This fee is set by a statewide policy and is based on the average cost to an individual library to process a replacement copy of a book that is already in its collection. Once paid, the processing fee is non-refundable.
