Waycross campus Library functions as an integral part of South Georgia State College's instructional program. Its purpose is to provide print and electronic resources, as well as to provide instructions in their use. These resources support the faculty in their preparation of course work, the students' need for study and research materials, and the staff's need for a range of specialized references. The library's resources are also used by the community served by the Waycross campus.
This is your library. We hope that you will become acquainted with it and use it frequently. It is a place where you may work without interruption. Please help us to maintain a quiet and studious atmosphere.
The Library contains more than 30,000 print volumes and over 27,000 electronic books, which can be accessed in the online catalog (GIL). The Library receives over 200 periodical subscriptions and nine newspapers regularly, with back holdings in bound and microform format. There is also a large collection of audiovisual material, which includes videocassettes, sound CDs, sound cassettes, and DVD's.
In addition, the library has a number of workstations with GALILEO (Georgia Library Learning Online) and general Internet access. GALILEO provides access to a large number of periodical and subject databases, and selected Internet links. Computers are also provided with Microsoft Office software for your other typing needs.
These resources are carefully selected with your academic and recreational needs in mind. We welcome your suggestions to improve our offerings and service.

Overdue items owned by Waycross College (including Reserve materials) are subject to fines (excluding days the Library is closed) for all WC students and community users as follows:
| Fines | |
| Books | .20 cents per day per item |
| Audiovisuals | .50 cents per day per item |

All patrons are responsible for damages to library materials which occur while in their possession. Such damage includes water damage, marking or drawing on the pages, torn out pages, teeth bites, or broken covers. A professional librarian assesses damages, and the cost is determined by the degree of damage. Damaged materials are the property of Waycross campus and are not returned to the patron.
Damages are generally assessed for an amount for rebinding, or for full replacement cost of the material. If the book is rebound, the minimum rebinding charge is $10.00. There will also be a $5.00 non-refundable Processing Fee for all damaged books.
Reference sources, both in print and electronic format are designed to give you quick answers to questions and get you started on a research project. Reference materials may be accessed through the online Gil Catalog and used within the Library.
Community users may use the GALILEO databases available in the Waycross campus Library. However, the password issued from the University System is restricted to current Waycross campus students and faculty. Community users must request the GALILEO password from their affiliated public library.
Some books listed in the online catalog are electronic books with full-text
The library's public service computers may be used to access the Internet, GALILEO, the GIL online catalog, Microsoft Office applications, and Email. Other users pay .10 cents per sheet. A fee is charged for color prints made from the color printer. Patrons must have their floppy disk scanned for viruses at the Circulation Desk before using any computer.
Waycross campus has a non-circulating Swamp Collection made up of books, photographs, newspaper articles, and a variety of other material about the Okefenokee Swamp region. Please ask a library staff member for access to this collection.
