The Waycross College Swamp Foxes won their fourth game in a row Thursday night by defeating the TAAG Academy Ambassadors, 81-72.
Darius Tookes was the Swamp Foxes’ (4-0) leading scorer for the second consecutive game. He finished with 25 points, 13 rebounds, and one blocked shot. Stan Maxwell had 17 points, six rebounds, and two blocks. Adam McLeod also finished in double figures with 13 points and three rebounds, while Robert Powell had ten points and eight rebounds.
The game’s biggest highlight came at the free throw line, where the Swamp Foxes have averaged 50 percent over their first three games. They shot 72 percent against the Ambassadors.
“I’m proud of our free throw shooting tonight,” said head coach Cory Baldwin. “I think we still have a lot of work to do, but we are definitely getting closer.”
Waycross College has been a proud member of the University System of Georgia since the college’s founding in 1976.
