Swamp Foxes blow away Hurricanes
November 5, 2010
A strong defensive effort propelled Waycross College to a second consecutive win Nov. 4, blowing past the Mayport Hurricanes, 77-45.
Josh Mendenhall finished with 12 points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots. Rachard Lofton also finished with 12 points and had four steals. Blake Fussell rounded out the top scorers with nine points, including making six of eight free throws.
The Swamp Foxes (2-0, 0-0 GJCAA) held the Hurricanes to 21 percent shooting in the second half and 28 percent overall, while forcing 22 turnovers.
WC will be home again this Tuesday night, Nov. 9, against the junior varsity squad from Brewton-Parker College. Tip is set for 7 p.m. Admission to all regular season home games is $5.00 with children 5 and under admitted free.Waycross College has been a proud member of the University System of Georgia since the College’s founding in 1976.
